There is so much to see that we hope that the stay will be long enough to see even half of the wonders that the city of Girona has to offer.
In the first place, its magnificent Cathedral, which, although it is a sacramental-type building, we strongly recommend visiting because it is a very pleasant surprise for all the senses, except for taste, which we can already cheer up by going on our way to one of the good taverns or bars in this area.
The building to which we went was built in the middle of the 11th century with the idea of impressing the faithful of the time. It is full of symbolism even from its original approach, given that it was built on a hill to raise the divine above the rest of things and in a single nave, which is the largest of its kind, to imply the elemental figure of God. With traces of Romanesque, Gothic and later styles in the ornamental details.
Apart from the temple itself or its content, which we will access by paying admission, we will also be able to appreciate its stairway in the Temps de Flors, in a specially predisposed way, throughout the month of May, in which the city is adorned with plants and flowers in every corner.
