Sourroundings of Casa Gina
With a past markedly influenced by visiting/invasive cultures, the Costa Brava retains much of those influences, even in the form of historical remains. This is the case of the Roman ruins of Platja d´aro, a 10 hectare site that makes it one of the largest throughout the Catalan territory.
It is an old agrarian village dedicated mainly to wine tasks and that is that from this part of the Iberian Peninsula many of the broths that once filled the calices of the empire came out. It is an area that we can enjoy in a relaxed and , also with the benefit that it is an outdoor cultural visit.
In the people of Castell itself, up at the top of its urban nucleus, we find the Benedor XV or the explosion of a polvorín during the French attacks in the War of Independence.
Now totally restored, trying to keep the original style, it has become since 1970 the headquarters of the city cultural center, where exhibitions and events of a informative nature are carried out.
