Welcome to Boltaña, a village of 1071 inhabitants located north of Huesca, next to the Ara River. The first settlement that gave rise to the town occurred in Roman times, although it was the Arabs who built the medieval center that today is maintained and the defensive castle. After the reconquest of the town by the Christians the castle was reformed and used as a defense against the Arabs.
Being located within the National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido, this park can be done many routes and excursions, among which are the climb to Monte Perdido, 3355 meters high, or the route to Cascada de Soaso, a path of about 6 hours that leads to the waterfall.
In this area you can also take a 3 hours tour that follows the course of the San Martín River showing the hiker lakes and waterfalls until you reach the Barranco San Martín, a canyon that forms a unique ecosystem.
