Boltaña is a town located north of the province of Huesca that has about 1,071 inhabitants. It is located next to the Ara River, which once helped the defense of the city. Originally founded by the Romans, this town was later occupied by the Arabs, from whom it preserves its historic center and its castle, although its peak period was between the 16th and 18th centuries.

Being within the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, several routes and excursions can be made around the town, among which are the route to the Soaso Waterfall or Cola de Caballo, a path that starts from Torla and reaches this waterfall, and the climb to Monte Perdido, 3,355 meters high.

In the area you can also take the excursion to theSan Martín ravine, a route of medium-easy difficulty that should be done in good weather. The path borders the San Martín River passing through lakes and waterfalls until reaching the magnificent ravine.
