La Casa de las Pajaritas- La Casa Grande

This charming rural house is located in Pasarón de la Vera, a town located in the northeastern area of the Extremaduran province of Cáceres.

The town is surrounded by the natural beauty of the region, as it is located at the foot of the Sierra de Tormantos, at the western end of the Sierra de Gredos.

The original construction of the house dates back to the 17th century, respecting its structure and details of its decoration of the time. It is divided into 2 accommodations: a house and an apartment, both with independent access. 

On this occasion we present the house, which has the capacity to accommodate a maximum of 11 guests (some in extra beds), and is divided into 2 floors and an attic. 

Let's start by getting to know the ground floor, where they are located:

• 3 Bedrooms, 2 of them with a double bed and a third with 2 single beds. They are dominated by brown and white colors, creating warm environments where you can rest without interruptions. One of the bedrooms has its own bathroom, while the other 2 share a large bathroom with a bathtub. 

The first floor is the family gathering area, finding in it:

• Thekitchen, where tradition and modernity are combined: the first comes from its decoration, in a rustic style; 

• The dining room has access from the kitchen, and has an exit door to the terrace, so you can enjoy the banquets looking outside.

• The living room is located under a slightly sloping ceiling, with exposed beams, creating a warm atmosphere. In it, you will find a large sofa located in front of the fireplace, as well as television with DVD and music system for entertainment. 

• The bathroom on the first floor is equipped with an indoor shower, as well as a pedestal sink and toilet for daily use. 

• The terrace is covered so that you can also use it when it rains. In it, you will find a barbecue and furniture, such as tables and chairs. 

Finally, the attic has a double function: it is equipped to act as a bedroom, but it also has board games and television, making it an ideal room for leisure.

The town of Pasarón de la Vera is declared a Historical-Artistic Site, thanks to the fact that it has monuments of great architectural value, including:

• Church of El Salvador, a building built during the glorious 15th century.

• Pecharromán Museum, an imposing mansion that once served as a public school.

• Manrique Lara Palace, with a façade divided into 2 levels and balconies on the outside.

Nature is one of the great attractions of the area, as we are very close to the Garganta de los Infiernos, immersed in the heart of the Jerte Valley, and the Monfragüe National Park, crossed by the flight of black vultures. 

Among the most charming towns in the surrounding area, do not forget to include in your route a visit to Trujillo, one of the towns with the most history in the province; or Plasencia, with a very complete old town.
