Real experiences of guests who have stayed in a country house in Caceres

Saray's stay

Hosted at La Casita - La Casería
On the May bridge we stayed with our 3-year-old daughter at La Casita and we couldn't have a better taste in our mouths. It was an unbeatable experience. The house itself is very cozy and the farm, which is huge, is great, it has a reservoir and a meadow with incredible views. Besides the fact that there were animals, the girl really enjoyed it.

Alvaro's stay

Hosted at Casa Rural La Casería
We have returned to La Casería after several years, and the experience has been even better than the previous one. La Casa Grande continues to preserve the essence of the years and the Convent, with the magnificent fireplace, and the huge living room, perfect for a large group like ours, as well as the kitchen and the covered barbecue. Everything is very well cared for, and clean, and the rooms are beautiful.

Casado's stay

Hosted at El Silo
This past Pilar bridge we have been fortunate to stay in this wonderful house, full of memories of the past. We have been surprised by its natural environment and its facilities, as well as by the kindness of Eva and her husband, who have treated us like true friends. We are all delighted and hope to return for our annual cousin rendezvous. Congratulations to the owners for the beautiful farm.

Bianca's stay

Hosted at El Palomar - La Casería
The past Pilar bridge has been one of the best I have passed, in the company of a large group of more than 20 people, all of them relatives. It has been a rural experience to repeat in all aspects. The accommodation and its great surroundings, both the structure of the largest house where most of us stayed, as well as the others. A cozy space worth remembering and also especially for my particular taste for antiques, truly exquisite pieces that can be found in every corner of the enclosure.

Keyla's stay

Hosted at La Casita - La Casería
Perfect weekend at La Casería. The unbeatable facilities and very, very clean. We were on the top floor, in the large house, a very cute room with a bathroom, essential when you travel with children. The entire enclosure is very careful, the pool area, lawn, and even the barbecue area. The impeccable kitchen, both in terms of equipment and cleanliness, which is much more important.

Adelaida's stay

Hosted at Casa Rural La Casería
We have been three families plus grandparents and with eight children in total, this last weekend of March to the main house and we liked it very much. The holiday home is old and very traditional, but with everything you need and with a typical decoration of the area and furniture, sculptures and other old and very beautiful ornaments. I don't even know what to say about the surroundings, it's magnificent!

Welcome to Caceres

If you would like to find the perfect getaway of rural tourism in Cáceres you will need to know where to stay. The northern province of Extremadura will allow you to visit incredible places, such as its Plaza Mayor filled with the most impressive monuments, its palaces, such as the palace of Golfines de Abajo, or its rich, medieval heritage.

But this journey doesn't end in the Middle Ages, for the early Muslim influence is also present in this area, as its capital's city walls, and the palace of Las Veletas testify.

Founded during Roman times, you can move across Cáceres through the Vía de la Plata, a path currently walked by some pilgrims during one of the stages of the pilgrimage of the Camino de Santiago, that you will also be able to walk of you decide to stay here.

We also recommend visiting the city of Plasencia and its city walls and cathedral from the Middle-Ages. But if you're more a of a nature lover, you are in luck because you'll be able to visit the unique, natural reserve of Monfragüe, or the mountains of San Pedro.

Another highlight of this region due to its beautiful views, is the valle del Jerte, named after the river that crosses the valley, and where you will be able to see, if you're lucky, its one-of-a-kind white and pink show of blossoming cherry trees.

Finish your visit with a taste of the local gastronomy, with Pimentón de la Vera, a local condiment similar to paprika, as its star product, protected as PDO of a small region within this province where it is produced.

Where to sleep in Caceres

Where to stay in Caceres?

This region, and Extremadura in general, are not particularly tourist-driven, but are actually one of the cheapest destinations in Spain, which make it an ideal option if you're looking, for instance, for a weekend getaway.

Its historical centre, known as the Ciudad Vieja, is one of the most demanded areas to rent accommodation compared with the rest, but it compensates for the close proximity of the most impressive historical buildings, and charming towns and villages that you will have easy access to. Nevertheless, and considering that it is not one of the largest provinces in terms of its territory, staying for a few days in one of the villages and small towns around the area might be a better option for you.

Some of the places we usually recommend and that offer the most options for tourists are Alcántara, Valencia de Alcántara, Trujillo or Jarandilla de la Vera.

Any of these places will make for a great destination for you to discover the secrets of this region, apart from allowing you to enjoy the air of true traditionality that is transpired everywhere.

Any of these destinations will make for a great, and relaxing stay.
