Sourroundings of Casa rural Garza Real
Valdastillas is a small town that you will find in the Comarca del Valle del Jerte, northeast of the Extremadura province of Cáceres. The town, with cobbled streets with white facades, is surrounded by the Sierra de Tormantos and by the Valle del Jerte, therefore it is an ideal place to discover:
- The forests and fauna form an ecosystem of great ecological value, mixing in the Garganta de los Infiernos Natural Reserve in the middle of the Sierra de Tormantos, near the town. Through it you will find numerous waterfalls as well as natural pools in which to spend a wonderful summer day.
- The Valle del jerte area is especially beautiful to discover in spring when the cherry trees are in bloom. There are numerous routes that you can do, on foot or by car, in the surroundings while discovering some wonderful villages.
- Because of this valley every year, during the second half of May, the Festival of the Cherry Blossom is celebrated. Every year a different town hosts the festival declared of of National Tourist Interest. To learn a little more you can go to Cabezuela del Valle where the Cherry Museum is located.
