Can Fruitós

This is the restoration of an old house that is located in the Jewish neighborhood of Besalú, Girona.

In the restoration the entire old structure of the house was preserved, with the desire to preserve the charm of the layout of the Jewish houses of the time.

The rural house consists of a first floor where the double room with private bathroom and 2 other rooms are located, of which one has 2 single beds and the other has 3. This first floor also has a full bathroom. We leave the linen for all beds at your disposal, as well as toilet paper and towels in each bathroom.

If we go up to the second floor you can see that the living-dining room and the kitchen are located there. In the living room area there is a fireplace tucked into a metal structure, and next to it there is a plasma television. The coffee table, which is placed in front of the sofa, is made with a pallet, and the rest of the furniture also imitates that structure.

In the dining area there is a large table for 8 people, to which a highchair can also be attached. A cupboard is placed against one of the walls that houses the kitchenware and dishes. Right next to this room is the kitchen, which has a washing machine, oven and refrigerator, among other appliances .

From the views of the house you can have a wide panoramic view of the entire Jewish quarter.

Besalú is a medieval Jewish village. The town was classified this way because its location is between 2 streams: the Fluvià and the Capellados.

This town is magnificent if you would be passionate about getting to know Jewish culture up close, because there are architectural monuments such as the Miqvé or the Synagogue. But without a doubt, you cannot miss the symbol of the town: the Puente Viejo.

If you take a walk around the town you can also visit such emblematic and historical places as the Monastery or its 2 Churches.

In short, the town is characterized by numerous walls, castles, fortifications, bridges and towers that will not leave you indifferent.
