Torroella de Montgrí is a village of just over 10000 inhabitants located northeast of Gerona, in the region of Bajo Ampurdán. In this municipality the following places stand out:
- The Montgrí Massif. It crosses the region of Ampurdán and its calacarea formation alternates mountainous areas with beautiful cliffs in the Costa Brava.
- In this is the Castillo de Montgrí. Edificado in 1294 still retains its walls of 13 meters that rise in front of what was a rival castle: the Bellcaire.
- The Medas Islands. It is an archipelago declared National Protected National Park. Its seabed is studied by numerous researchers, who have found that the islands were inhabited by pirates, and is an ideal area for diving.
