Description of Cal Mateu
Our casa rura l is located at Urtx, which belongs to the municipality of Fontanals de Cerdanya, at Valle de la Cerdanya.
The house is rented by rooms, although there is the possibility to reserve it in full. It has 6 bedrooms of different characteristics. The total capacity is for 13 people, but can be extended with extra beds.
The house is a old farmhouse, completely renovated, but keeping its distribution and original building and respecting its predominant materials. The house on the outside is very pretty, retains the stones of the main facade and with a characteristic portico of access to the patio.
The living room has a wood fireplace with enclosure. It is covered with stone and brick, combining with the wall, which maintains the original slabs of the farmhouse. Next to it is the sofa and the television. On the other side there are tables and chairs for the users to have breakfast or to meet. You can see typical antiquarian ornaments, such as wooden clogs or farm objects, and florals.
The kitchen is next. Through the previous stay, you access a small kitchen, installed so that guests can prepare what they want. It has microwave, coffee maker, a gas stove and refrigerator.

The house is in a very quiet environment, however, if you need anything, Puicerdá and Llívia, the largest towns, is located at 6 and 12 kilometers respectively.
Something very typical is the Yellow Train, which runs through the French Cerdanya, going from Villefranche-de-Conflent to Latour-de-Carol. It is the medium of original transport of the Pyrenees and will allow you to make a perfect route to get to know the region.
In Meranges, a nearby town, you can see the Malniu Ponds and the whole area, very spectacular thanks to its leafy pine forest and the water that flows everywhere due to thaws.
