We are Josep and Àngels.
We have been dedicated to tourism since always in Restaurant, Camping and now in the hostel, we organize, prepare and cook in La Torre del Baró.
The shelter is above all a space dedicated to families and family groups with children and young people, with the objective that they feel comfortable and calm, with the elements of functional furniture, hobbies and games enough to be able to leave their children free without worries .
Hikers and athletes, enjoy homemade food, always thinking of a healthy and balanced diet for people with high physical exhaustion.
We try to give a familiar treatment to all our clients and offer a trustworthy home environment.
What the owner pinpoints on the property
The views are phenomenal from the same enclave of the hostel, many of the rooms have views of the valley and the mountains.
The food is homemade normally served in trays, which give us the possibility to eat according to the hunger we have and the prices are very affordable.
We do not want to look like a hotel, nor do we have any of the comforts that these offer, but here we can all let ourselves go a bit and be with family outside our home.
Here the coexistence that we see every day among people of all ages is one of the things that most make us proud.
What to do in its surroundings?
With two ski resorts less than 20 minutes away, we can practice alpine and Nordic skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, dog sledding, snow park and descent with sledding.
The reservoir allows water sports such as kayaking and swimming.
In the surroundings there are two recreational areas with barbecue, where we can savor the mountain meat from nearby livestock farms cooked by ourselves.
In the mountain, apart from the ski resorts, we have the Pirineu Zoo, a resting place for wild animals and raptors and older, cria, invalids or with physical problems, in the zoo they also perform flight exhibitions and workshops for the little ones or launching us through one of the many torrents where the descent of ravines is practiced, although that with the necessary material and protection.
Near "La riera sallada" a stream of salty waters, where salt was not so anciently produced in a mountain salina of which there are still vestiges, we can see the history, evolution and operation of the salinas, at the end we can float in the pool of salt water prepared for this purpose.
In Sant Llorenç de Morunys in the monastery we can visit the church, the museum, the organ, the chapels, the cloister and the walled enclosure.
If we like the history and know the particular geology of the area that once, many, many years ago was submerged in the sea, we can hire guides to follow historical and / or geological itineraries that will explain why the rocks of the valley are as they are. .
