Description of Castell de L'Espunyola

The Castle of L'Espunyola is a castle that today is considered as Bien of National Interest, and in whose tower a rural accommodation has been adapted.

The first historical references date back to the year 950 and throughout the passage of time has belonged to several nobles of our history. It is a unique opportunity to stay in a royal castle because its tower has been fully adapted and renovated for your stay, with all the comforts of today.

Con garden, barbecue and a privileged view, this house accommodates a maximum of 12 people.

It has been reconstructed in the tower a house of three floors, distributed in this way:

Ground floor:
- Room with comfortable sofas and chimney modern and glazed.
- Kitchen completely equipped.

First floor:
- Bedroom with double bed and possibility of adding 1 supletoria.
- A full bathroom and a small toilet.

Second floor with sloping ceilings:
- Bedrooms with single beds and a sofa bed supletorio.
- A full bathroom.

Outside, a patio with south orientation, furnished with garden tables and chairs. We also have barbecues to cook outdoors.

This castle is one of the two historical monuments of the municipality of Espunyola. It has been built since the century X, and its trorreón has been reconstructed to house this rural house. It is a secluded place, surrounded by hills and forests, which allows the rest in a house that covers all needs, surrounded by a very rich interior landscape.

Sourroundings of Castell de L'Espunyola

Located in the district of Berguedá, the castle is surrounded by an interior landscape with an infinity of possibilities, both natural and of bordering localities.

In Espunyola, the two most important monuments are the castle and the Romanesque church of St. Margaret of Mercadal, so this accommodation is a privileged to know the history of this Catalan town place.

Berga, only 15 kilometers of the rural house, is one of the most important localities of the region. With different museums; the Municipal Museum, the District, and the Circus Museum, and other cultural venues, such as the library of Ramón Vinyes i Cluet, with a collection of more than 36,000 volumes.

In natural terms, the main attraction is the Pedraforca. It is one of the most famous peaks in Catalonia, since its summit has two points, separated from each other. This mountain stone contrasts with the green hue of the vegetation, and by reflecting the sun on its surface, gives a sunsets mágicos.

In addition, you can visit other natural places of interest like Serra Verd la, or Natural Park Moixeró and Hills Three Heirs with a representative landscape of the area.
