Description of Cueva La Menara
Our rural house is located in the municipality of Gorafe, in Granada.
The unusual thing is that it really is a cave, built with a special clay from years ago. You can come to spend a different vacation and you will take a bag of anecdotes to tell.
The cave has a capacity for 4 people but for larger groups, there is the possibility of sharing the cave next door as well as its common areas.
This curious house was built years ago and its main characteristic is the temperature, maintaining about 19ºC at any time of the year.

In the exterior of the cave we are surrounded by nature and countryside, being able to enjoy the views sitting on the terrace. If you don't want to cook “underground”, you can always do it in the barbecue that is in our garden.

- Living-dining room with a circular skylight through which natural light enters. It also has different modern devices such as the television and the DVD and a wood-burning fireplace in case you want more heat.
- Large kitchen where we have all kinds of appliances prepared for use such as microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender or juicer, as well as complete tableware and different utensils for cooking comfortably.
- 2 double bedrooms, one of them with 2 single beds and the other with a double bed, although the bed really is of special dimensions. We also offer you bedding with sheets and blankets already on and a set of towels for each of our guests. We also have at your disposal a crib, as long as you request it in advance.
In the exterior of the cave we are surrounded by nature and countryside, being able to enjoy the views sitting on the terrace. If you don't want to cook “underground”, you can always do it in the barbecue that is in our garden.

Our peculiar rural house is located in Gorafe (Granada).
In this town we will find numerous cave houses like this one that come from the XII century when the Almohads inhabited this area. In addition, in the town it is worth visiting the 198 Neolithic dolmens since it is an almost unique opportunity to see these burial mounds in Spain.
In addition, we are only separated from Granada by 45 minutes by car. There you can enter to see the famous Alhambra and walk through its streets with Muslim memories such as the neighborhood of Albaicín. As a good Andalusian city, you can also look for a flamenco place and taste a good typical gazpacho from the area.
