Barraca Verda

This lovely traditional housing is in San Jaume D´enveja, a Catalan municipality belonging to the Montsiá region, in the heart of the Ebro delta.

It is a very calm municipality with just over 3,500 inhabitants, an idyllic place to spend a few days in contact with the natural environment. 

The house has a curious exterior architecture: built with traditional materials such as mud, straw and reed, in past times served as refuge for fishermen in the area. 

At present it has been totally rehabilitated to adapt to current needs. Its interior is distributed in some 60 square meters, having the capacity to accommodate up to 8 guests. Let's know your stays:

• living room. When you enter the house you will discover a large room surrounded by white walls and a high triangular roof coated with beams that match the windows and the floor. 2 zones are distinguished: a living room, with sofa in green, chimney and television ; and a clear wooden table-dining room with chairs for everyone. They highlight the rustic decorative elements, such as wicker baskets or field utensils. 

• kitchen integrated in the living room. The kitchen area is behind the dining room table, along one of the walls. The kitchen has cupboards built under the countertop, as well as basic appliances ( fridge, washing machine, microwave, among others ). Nor will you miss the cooking or dishes. 

• 3 bedrooms. Bedrooms perfectly combine white and brown tones to generate climates that invite absolute rest. In them you will find marriage beds and individual beds covered by soft fabric bedding. The cabinets or night tables are not lacking. 

• bathroom. The bath continues the rural decoration of the rest of the house. Inside you will find everything you need for daily cleaning.

In the exterior of the house, you will have a wide garden shared with another home. The garden has tables and chairs wood to enjoy the outdoors, as well as a pool with sun loungers for summer days, and a traditional barbecue of firewood. A perfect place to enjoy nature.

The house is located in a privileged area: very close to the Ebro River. It is a perfect area to enjoy activities for all tastes: from go to the beach, to fish or navigate by the river.

You can reach the mouth of the Ebro on foot. Once there, you will enjoy giving bike or walking walks, where you will discover a wide diversity of both flora and fauna.

A few minutes you will reach the urban center of the municipality of Sant Jaume d'Avja, where you will find several bars and restaurant areas where to taste the typical cuisine of Catalonia.

Among the monuments of the people, the parish church, with a neo -Romanesque style, was built at the beginning of the 20th century and rehabilitated a century later.

A few kilometers are Buddha island, an islet with a salty lagoon inside where you will see numerous species of sea birds.
