Welcome to Bogarra, a town of 970 inhabitants that belongs to the province of Albacete. Near this town are several archaeological settlements among which is the Haches Tower, a watchtower that resisted several Muslim attacks, and the Sphinx of Haches, an Iberian sculpture that resembles these Greek statues. Currently a replica can be seen in the Plaza del Cabezuelo.
In the vicinity of the town is the Sierra de Alcaraz, one of the ones that form the Betic mountain range. It is populated by pine forests on the slopes and tundra on the summits. Several excursions can be made through this mountain range and one of them is the climb to the peak Almenara, the highest of this sierra.
