Description of La Estación de Rabanera (Centro de Turismo Activo)
This rural house is located at Rabanera del Pinar, a small village in Burgos surrounded by pine forests. The house is located in the building that was the old railway station, so the set still maintains the water tank, the aguada (the tap designed to supply water steam engines) and the tracks, which today in day they are in disuse, in addition to the buildings that conformed the station, all reformed and taken advantage of for the rural set.
This house has capacity for 10 people distribuidas in 5 double rooms situadas in the superior plant. On the same floor there are also 3 fully equipped bathrooms that service all the rooms. One of the rooms has its own bathroom and the other 4 share a bathroom every 2, so that the bathroom is connected to both rooms directly.
In addition, the house has the following common areas:
The house also offers optional breakfast service, lunch and dinner or even picnic baskets so you can enjoy the holidays without worrying about the food.

- A snack shop located in the old halt and furnished with tables and wooden benches to be able to consume the grilled and cooked rice made in the barbecue.

I am Dani García and I came to the mountain to convert an old abandoned train station into the rural house that it is now.
I've been up here for almost 20 years (the Rabanera station is 1,081 meters above sea level), so I think I can give you clues about all the options you can enjoy in this privileged area of nature and history.
What the owner pinpoints on the property
The station is isolated but one step away from the town. The aesthetics of the old railway constructions make up a coquettish and cozy set with space for the enjoyment in family or with friends.
The region is spectacular as a mycological destination, for the practice of outdoor sports (mountain biking, hiking, horses ...) or for historical-cultural tourism or even cinema.

Rabanera del Pinar is a town of just over a hundred inhabitants belonging to the province of Burgos. In this village you can see the parish church, built at the end of the sixteenth century on the Romanesque construction of the previous temple. The church was restored in 2002, but the Gothic and Romanesque structures can still be seen.
Starting from this town, the route of Pinares-El Valle, a circular route of 7 kilometers in length and 120 meters of unevenness that crosses the pine forests that surround the town, becomes the best route to get to know this area and see its architecture while getting closer to nature.
In the same area is Hontoria del Pinar, a town of 700 inhabitants located on the banks of the River Lobos. Crossing this river is the bridge Campanario, a Roman bridge with 3 arches, 2 of which rest on a rock that fell off the mountain.
