Welcome to Sorripas, a village of 24 inhabitants located in the province of Huesca. It is located within the region of Alto Gállego and therefore very close to Natural Monuments, such as the Pyrenean Glaciers. This monument consists of a succession of morreras and ibones that alternate with large masses of ice and occupies some 3190 hectares. These glaciers expanded slightly during the Little Ice Age, but now they are in a period of disappearance.
Close to this area is the Natural Park of the Sierra and Canyons of Guara, a protected area of 47,453 hectares that encompasses deep canyons and rugged mountains, which makes it a paradise for climbers and canyons. Because it is declared a Special Protection Area for Birds, this park is also ideal for ornithologists.
Nearby you can visit the city of Jaca, which has an urban layout built in the Modern Age. As a remarkable monument you can see the Ciudadela, a fortress of the sixteenth century that has a pentagonal plant and a moat that today is populated by a herd of deer.
