We are Ana and Pedro, a couple from Madrid with roots in Sobradillo. In search of a way of a more natural and rhythmic way of life for us and our children, we decided to start a new journey in Las Arribes del Duero. The rural house El Patio del Arco is one of the pillars of this vital project and an activity that makes us really happy.
What the owner pinpoints on the property
Our priority when it comes to equipping and decorating El Patio del Arco has been the comfort and functionality of all its elements. When we travel we like to feel at ease and this is how we want our guests to feel.
What to do in its surroundings?
There are many ways to enjoy the Natural Park Arribes del Duero. Its forests, meadows and streams can be covered on foot or by bicycle. The winding roads that link the various locations are a real enjoyment of landscapes and viewpoints over the canyons of the Duero and its tributaries.
The boat rides are undoubtedly one of the most recommended activities. Also the visit to the settlements or castros vetones of Las Merchanas and Yecla, as well as the Rock Art Station of Siega Verde, declared World Heritage by Unesco and very close to the palatial villa of Ciudad Rodrigo.
The peoples hide corners, places and ancestral traditions that their people explain with great kindness; all linked to work in the fields, land and grazing. Almonds, olives, wine, sausages and sheep's cheese are the products par excellence. Hence, it is also worth visiting a winery, cheese or oil mill such as Ahigal de los Aceiteros.
