Ochagavía, in Otsababia in Basque, is a Navarrese town of 584 inhabitants that is characterized by its stone houses with very steep flat tile roofs so that the snow slides off in winter, mullioned windows and the family coat of arms of the house on the façade. The houses are separated from each other by a gap to prevent the spread of fires from one house to another.

The town is located very close to the Irati Forest, which occupies a territory of about 1,7195 hectares, 75% of them covered by beech and fir forests. It is considered one of the largest beech-fir forests in Europe and presents a different charm at every time of the year. The jungle has a network of 16 perfectly marked trails that are the best way to explore these forests discovering all their secrets.

Through the jungle you can also take routes of medium difficulty, such as the climb to Pico de Orhi, one of the highest peaks in the Navarrese Pyrenees and very attractive for practicing mountaineering. The route starts from the port of Larrau and ascends the foot of the mountain until reaching the top from where you can see spectacular views of the jungle and the Pyrenees.
