Montanuy is a small town of 57 inhabitants located east of the province of Huesca. The historic center of this town is mostly medieval, although the parish church is Baroque and dates back to the 18th century. In the surroundings of this town you can make several routes that will take the visitor along the most recondite paths of the environment.
Within the same municipality is the Natural Monument of the Pyrenean Glaciers, an ice extension that occupies about 3190 hectares. Thanks to the erosion of the ice, in this zone you can also contemplate morreras and ibones. These glaciers are currently in the process of disappearing.
Very close to this area is the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park, which covers the 2 highest massifs of the Pyrenees. For this park you can make excursions such as the climb to the Aneto, the highest peak of this massif.
