Casa do Cruceiro

This traditional house is located just 7 kilometers from Santiago de Compostela, in an environment full of abundant vegetation where tranquility is guaranteed.

For those of you who come from A Coruña, we tell you that the house is located at a distance of 64 kilometers; from Pontevedra, it is located about 50 km. 

It is an old farmhouse built in the 19th century, a period from which it preserves faithful elements of Galician architecture.

To adapt to all types of needs, the home can be rented in its entirety or by rooms, with a maximum capacity of 13 people. 

In the interior spaces, you will find:

• 11 rooms with bathroom: 4 doubles and 7 with double beds. Each room is decorated with a unique personality that makes it special, but in all of them we wanted to highlight the architectural beauty, revealing the wood on the ceilings and the stone on the walls.  

• Living room with fireplace. This room is decorated with earth tones that remind us of the nature outside. In addition to sofas and television to liven up the afternoons, a beautiful Galician fireplace located in one of the corners stands out in this space.

• Dining room. Under an elegant chandelier you will find a large-capacity dining table. Warming up the coldest days, next to it there is a wood-burning fireplace.

• Interior terrace. So that you can enjoy the beautiful views of the house throughout the year, the house has a covered glazed terrace, which houses a dining room where breakfast is served, and a relaxation area with armchairs.

The house is immersed in a walled garden of 3,000 square meters, where there is no shortage of paths for romantic walks, flowers and trees providing a touch of color, and the most traditional Galician decorative details, such as the crucifiro or the granary.

The surroundings of the house are ideal for active tourism: canoe rides, kayak routes, walking tours through nature... the options are endless. 

Our proximity to Santiago de Compostela makes a visit to the city almost mandatory. Among its rich heritage, you cannot miss:

• The Plaza del Obradoiro, where the Cathedral of Santiago stands, the goal of pilgrims.

• The Rajoy Palace, a spectacular work built in the 18th century.
•  
• The San Jerónimo College, founded in the 16th century by Alfonso III de Fonseca.

To put the finishing touch to a day of tourism, there is nothing better than enjoying the abundant Galician cuisine, highlighting its well-known octopus and its empanada. And for dessert? TheSantiago cake.
