Sourroundings of Can Pitu
Alfondeguilla is a city of 876 inhabitants that is part of the province of Castellón. In this town you can see a Roman aqueduct that locals know as l'Arquet, which is located on the banks of the ravine that borders the city. Across the ravine is another aqueduct, the Pont de l'Aigua, built by the Romans and rebuilt by the Arabs that is supported by 6 arches.
At the top of the rock of Castro is the Castle, an Arab fortification that was used as a watchtower in the Arab period strategically placed between 2 ravines to protect it from assaults from the sea.
On the same rock is the refrigerator. It is also known as the snow pit, since it is a 12.5 meter deep circular well that can store up to 420 liters of snow. These refrigerators served to provide the town with snow throughout the year, as it was used to store stored food and for medicinal purposes.
