El Batán de las Monjas

In a campsite in full nature, next to San Nicolás del Puerto (Sevilla), we have this renovated farmhouse in the form of apartments dedicated to rural tourism. The views are excellent, there is great tranquility, there is so much life around... It is a perfect environment to participate in the multiple activities that are carried out in the enclosure and enjoy the wonderful landscapes of the Sierra Norte.

The Cortijo has 12 places, which can be expanded to 18 with the help of supplementary beds, distributed in 6 double apartments. The bedding is included.

Each room has its own style and colors, which extend to decoration, furniture and even the tiles of the bathroom, which in each room is different, although in all it has the same equipment.

In the same bedroom space and the being of being we have the cuisine, small and effective but effective, with equipment that includes refrigerator, electric batch and microwave.

All apartments have terrace, with table and chairs to sit down to contemplate the views of the Ribera del Huéznar and the green grove that surrounds it. The heating is on radiant soil. The decoration is rustic, with the wood present both in soils and in the envigate of the ceilings, which transports to another era and gives the entire space a home and traditional touch.

In the building you can find a natural kitchen restaurant, in which typical regional dishes are prepared that include mountain stews, sausages and Iberian meats. It is an incredible opportunity to enjoy local cuisine without getting too far from accommodation. In addition, they accept reserves of large groups and for events and meetings, throughout the year.

Not far from the establishment is a bicycle rental and the parking area, for a better range of options in terms of displacement to and from accommodation.

San Nicolás del Puerto, a municipality in which the Cortijo is located, is a town with long historical tradition, which is reflected in its architectural heritage, especially, among other examples, in the church of San Sebastián, of Mudejar style, and the Roman bridge over the galindon ; In the latter there is also a artificial beach that in summer is very successful among tourists.

To the west, entering the Sierra Norte Natural Park, we will find the cascades of the Huéznar, a beautiful natural monument of waterfalls and pools, surrounded by a banks of forests and riverbank vegetation.

In the direction of Constantine, another lovely park town, we find the Cerro del Hierro, a monumental karst formation that, in addition to a great landscape value and as a place of climbing, has a long history behind, which starts from the pre -Roman mines that were excavated in it.
Without leaving the Sierra Norte Park, we can continue visiting their rural enclaves, all of them with a history to discover and historical heritage that portrays the passage of history through them: the Pedroso, Cazalla de la Sierra, Alanís or Las Navas de la Concepción.
