The valley is formed by mountains that oscillate between the 2000 and 3000 meters of altitude and limits with the Natural Park of Posets-Maladeta. With an extension of 33440.60 hectares, this park allows excursions such as the ascent to the Aneto, the highest peak of the Pyrenees.
In the area you can also find the Natural Monument of the Pyrenean Glaciers, which occupies about 3190 hectares between ice, lakes and rivers. In the Little Ice Age these glaciers were in expansion, however they are currently in a period of disappearance.
