This apartment is located in the Teruel city of Valderrobres, which had great historical importance as a defense point during the Reconquest and throughout the Carlist Wars. To access the old town, you must cross a Gothic stone bridge that reaches the Portal de San Roque, one of the entrances of the wall that is impressively well preserved.
The icon of this city is the Castle that crowns the city from the top of the mountain. Its origin is unknown and although it is believed that it could have been built at the end of the 12th century, it could well have been built earlier. During the XV and XVI centuries it belonged to the archbishop of Zaragoza.
Attached to the base of the same mountain where the Castle is located, is the Palace. It was built in the 15th century and was also owned by the Archbishop of Zaragoza, so it joins the palace through a secret passageway carved into the rock.
