This apartment is located in the Turolense city of Valderrobres, which had great historical importance as a point of defense during the reconquest and throughout the Carlist wars. To access the old town of the town, a Gothic stone bridge must be crossed that reaches the San Roque Portal, one of the entries of the wall that is impressively well preserved.
The icon of this city is the Castillo that crowns the city from the top of the mountain. Its origin is unknown and although it is believed that it could be built at the end of the 12th century, it could well have been built before. During the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries it belonged to the archbishop of Zaragoza.
Attached to the base of the same mountain where the castle is located, there is the palace. It was built in the fifteenth century and was also owned by the Archbishop of Zaragoza, so it joins the palace through a secret passage excavated in the rock.
