This campsite is located in the Sierra de Caurel, a wonderful and peaceful place that represents the green essence of Galicia. Together with the village of Froxán, both have been declared as Cultural Interest, with the category of Places of Ethnographic Interest.

Another interesting aspect of this land is in the important mines of pre-Romanesque origin, such as A Toca, Torubio or Millares. In fact, one of the theories of the origin of the name of Caurel is based on the fact that it could derive from aureum (gold) by the exploitations carried out by the Romans, taking advantage of the strength of the rivers and the sophisticated engineering works.
