Ochagavia is a small Navarrese town that is inhabited by about 600 people. It is located northwest of Navarra, in the Salazar valley, limited to the north by the Sierra de Abodi. The highest peak in this mountain range is Orhi, and one of the routes that can be taken through this area is the climb to the peak; a one-hour route taken from the port of Larrau.

Since the 17th century, these dancers have danced the Emperor's dances, Danza, Katxutxa and Modorro, which are danced with sticks, the Pañuelo, which is danced with handkerchiefs, and a jota.
