The Palacio de los Serranos is located in Sotillo de la Ribera, Burgos, in the region of La Ribera.
Thispalace from the year 1740 was ordered to be built by the rector of the University of Santiago, Don Juan Antonio Serrano Mañero. It was owned by his family until the end of the 20th century, when it became part of the Sotillo de la Ribera City Council, finally becoming a refined rural accommodation.
Its stone façade, the garden and some of the corners of the house have been preserved and it has been decorated in the style of the nobility of the time.

Palacio de los Serrano offers its guests a free visit to one of the wineries in Sotillo de Ribera, courtesy of the house. During this visit you will be able to learn from a winemaker the way in which wines with the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin are made. Apart from wine, Sotillo de la Ribera is known for itsblack pudding and its artisanal pastas.
In terms of historical monuments we can highlight the Church of Santa Águeda and the facade of the Town Hall, which was built in 1781, during the reign of Charles III. It is curious to look at the shield on the façade, where two castles, two lions and two oaks called “Las Zapatillas” appear. They have been given this popular name because legend has it that a girl was lost in the mountains, and that the only thing that was found of them were her slippers at the foot of some oak trees.
Less than 20 km from the house is Aranda de Duero, a city in Burgos that is worth visiting.
