Description of Casa La Valleja
Welcome to this small Asturian village called Rieña.
Our village only has 8 houses, so if you are looking for a quiet, beautiful environment, with all the comforts, this is your place.
The accommodation was built in the 20s of the last century, but we wanted to rehabilitate it with different materials, all of them recycled, so that you have all the needs.
The house has 3 floors.
We have 7 bedrooms:
A dining room.
It is a perfect place to sit and rest. It has a wood stove. You can sit in the comfortable armchairs and read a book from our library, while you enjoy the heat of the stove and the privacy that the home offers.
Kitchen.
It has different appliances such as microwave, refrigerator, etc. In addition to all the household items and utensils necessary for cooking and eating.
Hall.
This is the entrance to the house. It is a hallway that gives entrance to different rooms of the house. We wanted to decorate it with different handmade lamps,, taking maximum care of the details.
Outdoor area.
We offer you different workshops so that you can learn some things.

Sourroundings of Casa La Valleja
Our accommodation is located in the Los Picos de Europa Biosphere Reserve, very close to Arenas de Cabrales, the main entrance to the Central Massif, where the Ruta del Cares and Naranjo de Bulnes are located.
Behind us we have the Sierra del Cuera, a Protected Landscape that rises between the Cantabrian Sea and the Picos de Europa, being the best viewpoint of eastern Asturias on clear days, although yes, the only access is on foot. A great adventure with many rewards.
The Atlantic forests that are around are a fantastic place to make sightings of Cantabrian fauna, every night you will hear the tawny owl and the owl from the terrace, and possibly, the roe deer.
We live in a paradise of sea and mountains, because in the morning you can climb the mountains near the house and in the afternoon take a dip in one of the beautiful beaches of the Llanisca coast just 40' away. Or in the crystal clear waters of the Cares River 4km from the house.
Near our house there are also many cultural activities such as visiting prehistoric caves in our surroundings, Pindal, La Loja, Covaciella... The Aula de la Miel de Los Picos de Europa, just 3km from the house, is a Great idea if you come with children, since we live in the municipality of Peñamellera Alta (Peña-mielera) famous for its well-known honey.
