A Casa Vella - Casas de Outeiro

This cozy stone-built house is located in the Galician municipality of Samos, specifically in the province of Lugo. Its location is characterized by being part of the Camino de Santiago, one of the best-known routes in the Iberian Peninsula. 

It is the perfect accommodation both to go with friends and to enjoy with the family, in a stay where complete rest is guaranteed.

The house was restored in 2005 and has a capacity of 6 people. Formerly it was used as the home of the family of the Abbot of the Monastery of Samos. Their daily work was based on baking and farming, in fact, visitors can see what remains of the facilities of the place that were intended for these activities. 

The house is arranged in the following rooms:

• Large wood-burning kitchen with everything you need to make your favorite recipes. With rustic decoration it is made up of drawers and shelves that store all the household items as well as the dishes necessary so that guests can enjoy a meal in good company. It has all the necessary appliances.

• In the center of the kitchen there is a wooden table and benches around it. Due to its proximity to the kitchen, it makes it easier for guests to move around with all the utensils and dishes, making transfers much more comfortable. 

• Alternatively, there is a space dedicated to the dining room, which has another wooden table and several chairs around it. This is the ideal space for more serious lunches or dinners that require more space. 

• One of the most cozy rooms in the house is the living room, it is a large space with stone walls formed by 2 sofas with several seats, located in front of a wooden trunk that is used as a table on which books and magazines are arranged. In addition, a fireplace becomes the protagonist of the room since it is a good place to gather. A television with DVD gives tenants the possibility of watching a movie before going to sleep or, alternatively, the house provides guests with different board games. 

• 3 double bedrooms, one of them has a comfortable double bed and the remaining bedrooms are made up of 2 beds for individual use in each of them. These are spacious rooms elegantly decorated combining stone walls with wooden headboards and wardrobes. They have nightstands that hold small lamps, responsible for illuminating the room at the end of the day. There is the possibility of adding a crib.

• 2 full bathrooms and shared for the 3 bedrooms. The house makes body hygiene products and towels available to guests. They also have large mirrors with rustic decoration. 

Outside the house there is a patio with barbecue, perfect for those special occasions when eating outdoors with the best company and views of the town of Samos and its surroundings. 

In addition, the complex includes SPA facilities that can be used for an additional cost. Between the stage of the Camino de Santiago that runs between Tricastela and Sarria this beautiful rural house is located, specifically in the municipality of Samos, belonging to the province of Lugo. 

Due to its location, it is very common to see a multitude of pilgrims who, a few kilometers from the end of the adventure that leads to Santiago de Compostela, decide to make a stop in this beautiful town whose monument of interest is the Monastery of San Juan de Samos, which dates back to the 6th century and belongs to the order of the Benedictines. 

However, for hiking lovers, there are different routes that take place in the nearby mountains or on the shore of the Oribio River, very close to the municipality of Samos. 

45 kilometers away is the city of Lugo, of Roman origin and characterized by its wall, the main monument of the place because it is perfectly preserved and has more than 2 kilometers in length.  It was declared World Heritage Site.
In addition, you can visit its Roman baths or Roman bridge, other places of interest in the city.
