Arizcun is a village in Navarre of 577 inhabitants located in the municipality of Baztán, very close to the valley of the same name. This valley is formed by the basin of river Bidasoa, which in this area joins the Baztán and Aranea rivers. The valley is formed by forests of beech, oak, among others, growing next to the rivers. In these forests live many wild animals such as foxes or coipus, a South American mammal that settled a few years ago on the banks of the Baztán.
Through this valley you can make numerous routes that follow the steps of the smugglers, witches and pilgrims who walked through the forests of the valley. One of these routes is the climb to the viewpoint of Ziga, from which you can enjoy the best view of the valley. In this area you can see many dolmens, megaliths and mediaeval palaces that dot the valleys showing the different phases of the history of the valley.
Near this area you can see the caves of Urdax and those of Zugarramurdi, authentic geological spectacles that will amaze anyone for whom once smugglers hid and where the witches organized their covens.
