Sourroundings of Hostal Lola
Isaba is a small village in Navarre whose population does not reach 500 inhabitants. It is located on a promontory surrounded by the 3 rivers that form the Esca, a unique natural setting in a dream village typical of the mountain.
Near this town is the valley of Salazar, at the beginning of which is Foz de Arbaiun, a canyon hollowed out over the centuries by the River Salazar, which crosses in valley. The interior of the canyon is populated by a great variety of deciduous vegetation, predominating beech forests, which offers a chromatic spectacle that varies with the season. In the rocky walls of the canyon there lives a colony of griffon vultures that can be seen from the rocky parapet.
On the other side of the Salazar valley is the Jungle of Irati, one of the best preserved beech forests in Europe and, with 17,000 hectares, the largest forest area in Navarra. Through this jungle there are 16 marked trails that lead the visitor through the interior of the forest and show him the most beautiful and hidden corners.
