La Casona de Belmonte

Our rural house is in the small village of Oviñana, belonging to Belmonte de Miranda, in Asturias.

It consists of a large house, of typical Asturian construction. It is a 2-story building, spacious and monumental in appearance. Its stone facades are perfect for the climate of the area, since it isolates the cold thanks to its thick walls. Apart from the wooden windows and doors, it has climbing plants, such as vines with flowers, which give it a beautiful country touch.

It is located on a extensive estate, all covered in vegetation as is common in Asturias.

The house has 4 bedrooms and, in addition, an apartment. In this way, a maximum of 12 people can be accommodated in the entire house. Each guest will be able to choose the type of accommodation, but all the rooms are decorated in detail and from all of them you will be able to see impressive views of both the estuary and the mountains.

Inside, guests can use the common room. All are decorated following a rustic style, with fine woods and cobblestones. An attempt has been made to preserve the character of the house, since it was once used for farming. The protection of the original materials and the personality of the building is very valuable, because it allows the guest to learn about the history of the place and soak up the customs.

This room consists of a large space, where the living room with television is located. Also here there is a part with dining tables and chairs. The kitchen is incorporated into this room, with the necessary appliances and kitchenware so that our guests can operate at home.

In addition, we offer internet access. For recreation, there is also a reading area and various games.

The garden is wonderful, as it exudes greenery and nature everywhere. There is one side that consists of an extensive meadow, because we have a garden and a small farm with some animals. This makes guests even closer to the environment and life in the countryside.

But, in addition, we have an area closer to the house, decorated with garden furniture. They are not just any furniture or ornaments, since they are old farm implements restored, such as an old cart. We also have some swings for the little ones, although they have more than enough space to run and play!

Outside we preserve an old granary, also restored, so that visitors to our accommodation can see what it was like and what the typical constructions are for.

We offer a familiar and close treatment, because our goal is for users to be comfortable and comfortable and to get to know our way of life. Consequently, with this objective, if you wish, you can taste the breakfasts that we serve, prepared with local products and with great care.

Our location is very good, since on one side we have the Miranda estuary, a very beautiful riverbed that creates beautiful landscapes. Furthermore, it is one of the hallmarks of Oviñana, since it gives rise to very fertile lands, ideal for agriculture. This activity is fundamental in the village, like livestock, since our livelihood and our lifestyle is the countryside and nature.

Due to the abundance of crops, we have a gastronomy worthy of mention. We have a multitude of products, all of quality, and homemade preparations and recipes that constitute a key piece in the village.

The other frame of our house is the Monte Courio and the Narcea River. In addition, we are in a favorable location to visit the most representative areas of Asturias. Gulpiyuri beach is also nearby, with beautiful cliffs.

In the town itself, belonging to the Belmonte de Miranda council, you can visit what remains of the Church of Santa María de las Nieves, a construction from the 14th century.
