Juncosa de Montmell is located in the Lower Panadés, in the province of Tarragona. In this town the ruins of the castle of Montmell remain, a key fortress during the war of succession, and the church of San Miguel, a small hermitage of the 11th century.
Close to this town is Bisbal del Panadés, famous for its parish church dedicated to Santa María, a neo-Gothic style construction built on the foundations of a 13th century church. In the neighborhood of Ortigós you can still see the remains of a circular tower that was originally 13 meters high, built between the 10th and 12th centuries.
And not much further away is Masllorenç, that stands out for its large castle, restored in the eighteenth century on a ruins of the ninth century. This crenellated castle is built of stone and was the fortress under whose protection grew the set of houses that today make up Masllorens.
